Our striking Flawless Cut collection is enhanced by the brilliance and performance of the diamond.

Diamond Quality

There are traditional ways in assessing the qualities of diamonds. Commonly known as the 4Cs, the diamond grading scale focuses on the comparison of a diamond to a comparably sized perfect example.

A diamond’s weight is measured in Carats, one carat being equivalent to 100 points. You may see diamonds being referred to carat or point measurements, for example a diamond may be referred to as 30 points which is a 1/3 of a carat. Larger stones are generally more highly valued, however size should not be the only consideration – clarity, cut and colour will impact the value and desirability of a diamond. Less than 1% of the world’s diamond’s are chosen to become a Flawless Cut diamond; cut by a master cutter to achieve such a high level of craftsmanship. It takes approximately 12 hours, per carat, to cut a Flawless Cut diamond from rough Crystal to the beautiful cut and polished diamond.
Cut is the most important of the 4 Cs, due to the cut being the only influence man has on a diamond. The quality of a diamond cut refers to the proportions, symmetry and polish which ultimately results in the performance of a diamond; also known as the Sparkle. A poorly cut diamond will lack in performance/sparkle and can look smaller due to the diamond weight hidden at bottom of diamond. A Flawless Cut diamond promises to be cut perfectly every single time. Being cut to perfect proportions lifts the diamond and enhances it by up to two colours. Less than 1% of diamonds in the world are cut to the standard of the Flawless Cut diamonds, and only a few master cutters can achieve this level of perfection.

Inclusions or marks that are visible are a diamond’s most distinguishing characteristics. The clarity of a diamond is determined by the presence or absence of inclusions and how visible they are to the naked eye – The fewer inclusions visible, the better the clarity of the diamond. A diamond’s clarity is categorized using the abbreviations IF (Internally Flawless), VVS (Very Very Slight), SI (Slight Inclusion) and P (piqued). Flawless Cut diamonds have the Clarity range of VS to SI, a diamond with the clarity of SI or better, you will usually not be able to see anything inside the diamond with your naked eye (not using magnification). clarity-ic02
Diamonds come in a range of colours, colourless or white diamonds have traditionally been considered the most valuable. Diamonds are graded using letters of the alphabet on a scale from D (colourless) to z (yellow/cognac). However, a diamond should have a good balance of cut, colour and clarity to transcend the most brilliance and sparkle. Flawless cut diamonds are in the colour range of G to I (near colourless); they are colour graded by independent gemologists to ensure you are receiving the exceptional quality we promise. color-ic02
